TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF SERVICE

1. Introduction These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern the services provided by CK Lactation ("we," "us," or "our"), owned and operated by Carissa Kramp. By scheduling an appointment, paying a deposit, or using our services (in-home, virtual, or phone consultations), you ("Client," "you") agree to be bound by these Terms.

2. Medical Disclaimer (Crucial) CK Lactation provides lactation consulting, breastfeeding support, and education. We do not provide medical diagnosis or treatment.

  • Not a Doctor: Carissa Kramp is a Lactation Consultant, not a physician or pediatrician.

  • Urgent Care: If you or your baby are experiencing a medical emergency (e.g., high fever, dehydration, lethargy), please call 911 or contact your pediatrician/OB-GYN immediately.

  • Referrals: We may refer you to other healthcare professionals (pediatric dentists, bodyworkers, ENTs) for diagnosis or treatment of underlying issues such as tongue ties.

3. Scope of Services Services include assessment of breastfeeding dynamics, latch improvement, weighted feeds, pumping plans, and education.

  • No Guarantee: While we use evidence-based practices to assist you, breastfeeding outcomes rely on many factors. We cannot guarantee specific results (e.g., specific milk output volume).

4. Appointments & Cancellation Policy We respect your time and ask that you respect ours.

  • Cancellation Window: You must provide at least 24 hours' notice to cancel or reschedule an appointment.

  • Late Cancellation Fee: Cancellations made less than 24 hours before the scheduled time will incur a fee of 50% of the service price.

  • No-Show Fee: If we arrive at your home and you are not present or do not answer the door within 15 minutes, the full cost of the visit will be charged.

  • Sickness: If you or anyone in your household has a contagious illness (flu, COVID-19, etc.), please notify us immediately. We will switch to a virtual visit or reschedule without penalty.

5. Payment & Insurance

  • Payment Due: Payment is required in full at the time of service (or beforehand for virtual visits). We accept credit cards, cash, electronic payments like Venmo, Apple Pay.

  • Insurance: CK Lactation is a fee-for-service practice. We are out-of-network with most insurance providers.

  • Superbills: Upon request, we will provide you with a "Superbill" (a medical receipt with coding) that you may submit to your insurance company for potential reimbursement. We cannot guarantee your insurance company will reimburse you.

6. In-Home Safety & Travel

  • Service Area: Our standard rates cover travel within Napa, Yountville, and St. Helena. Travel to surrounding areas (e.g., Calistoga, American Canyon, Sonoma) may incur an additional Travel Fee, which will be disclosed prior to booking.

  • Safe Environment: You agree to provide a safe, smoke-free environment for the consultation. Please secure any aggressive pets prior to our arrival. We reserve the right to terminate a visit immediately if the environment is deemed unsafe.

7. Privacy & Confidentiality

  • Health Information: We collect health history for the purpose of providing care. We adhere to strict privacy standards regarding your personal health information (PHI).

  • Coordination of Care: With your consent, we may communicate with your pediatrician or OB-GYN to ensure continuity of care.

  • Photos/Videos: We may take photos or videos of the baby's latch for clinical charting purposes only with your verbal consent. These are part of your private medical record and are never shared on social media without a separate, written release.

8. Limitation of Liability To the maximum extent permitted by California law, CK Lactation shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising out of the use of our services.

9. Governing Law These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be resolved in Napa County, California.
